Christmas is coming!

Wow! Can you believe it but Christmas is 54 days away?! And I've been busy working on some Christmas projects too! Below is a Christmas Gift Card Box - instructions to make this set is available for purchase on Craft Project Central - see the blinky on the right hand side of my blog. Cardstock and some stamped images are Stampin' Up! and others are from my other stash of stamps that I have.

Punch Art Hats

Goodness me! Can't believe my last post was in May! Where have the months gone?! I've just been so busy making cards and various papercraft items for my market stall and I keep forgetting to take photos of my projects to post on my blog! April Projects

The month of April has just flown by and we're just getting over Easter and already Mother's Day is around the corner! I've been so busy creating and haven't posted much lately on my blog. So here are some of the projects which I had done during the month of April and which I have been selling at my stall at the Market. This post is just photos of all my projects so far. And of course giving due credit to other papercrafters who have inspired me! Enjoy!

This is sliding pop up Easter Bunny inspired by Kim Score of Paper Punch Addition - thank you Kim!

These are Carrot Boxes which are filled with speckled Easter Eggs - as we don't have the Petal Cone die here in NZ yet, I used a heart shaped template to make these carrots! As I've seen a lot of these on many blogs, thank you to those papercrafters who were the inspiration behind this project.

These are two ice cream cones and the ice cream slides out of the cones, once again making use of a heart shaped template. Thanks to Valita of Valita's Designs and Fresh Folds - she used the heart shaped Spellbinders die to make the cone for the ice cream. As I don't have the die I made a template instead.

A Blossoms for Mom card - the inspiration is from Dawn - thanks Dawn!

Re-creation of the popular Flower Pot pull out card - this is such an amazing card that one just never seems to tire of making them!

Crafting up a Storm!

Gosh, since I started my stall at the Farmers Market, the mojo just keeps flowing! Here are a few of my projects that I've made so far. I would also like to thank some of the crafters which I have mentioned in this post for their inspirations and for any tutorials that they may have posted on their blogs.

This is called a Twisted Easel card which I saw on YouTube. When I saw this I just had to try and make one. The one shown on YouTube was made with a square card so I tried it with a 5 3/4" x 4 1/4" card and it worked out pretty well!

This is a box with eight 3x3 Thank You note cards. For the front panel on the box, I used the inlaid embossing technique which I've seen on many crafters' blogs lately. Yes, I still have the SU! Berry Bliss DSP (retired)! Told you that I hoarded everything!

This next project is a diagonal fold slider card which I saw here and here. It was so easy to make and once again I used the inlaid embossing technique for the front panel. I also cut out the flowers from the Su! Ginger Blossom DSP (retired)and stuck it on the inside card.

This is my Cupcake Fun Fold card. I saw this card here but I changed the measurements so that it would fit into a regular C6 envelope.

This is a triple tier slider card which was demonstrated on Splitcoasters by Heather Summers. It looks rather complicated but once you get started its quite easy to put together.

Pop Up Raggedy Andy and Easel Raggedy Ann

Gosh, its been a while since my last posting! Things have just been a bit hectic. I've being preparing and organising some of my cards/projects for my first day at a Farmers Market - yep, I now have a stall selling my cards/projects at the Mairangi Bay Farmers Market. So, its been rather chaotic in the last couple of weeks. I was a bit nervous as I wasn't too sure what the market customers would think of my stuff - but I must say, those that did visit my stall (and bought) were pretty impressed! This is just so encouraging! Anyway, two of the cards that I had on display were sold within an hour! I made the sliding pop up card which was featured on Splitcoasters by Kim Score as well as the Raggedy Andy which I found on her website too. I also saw Kim's Raggedy Ann and decided to make an easel card too. So here are my two Raggedy cards - Thanks a ton Kim for your inspirations!

'Cake Shoppe' - 65th Birthday

A very dear friend of mine will be celebrating her 65th birthday on Thursday and as she's not allowed to eat anything sweet for health reasons, I decided to make her a 'Cake Shoppe' which she could at least admire and not be tempted to try the cakes! I've seen quite a few of these designs around and thought I'd give it a try. The number 65 was cut out using my Cuttlebug.

Pinwheel Cards & Box

Gosh, the mojo hasn't stopped flowing! After making the Drawers of Love in my last post, I was left with a few pieces of square cut offs so I decided to make something with them instead of just adding them to my piles of cut offs and scraps. Did some blogging and got a few ideas and decided to combine them. Came up with these 3 x 3 pinwheel cards and of course had to throw in the gift box too! I didn't stop there though - even made the roses on top of the boxes! These two gift card boxes plus 14 cards and envelopes took me two days to make! The wrap around cover of the boxes were made using a piece of light weight chip board cut from cereal boxes - yes that's right, if you collect empty cereal boxes you'd be surprised what we crafters can make with them!
The pinwheel card idea was from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts, the rose from Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds and the gift box was from Lauren Meader.

Drawers of LOVE

As February is the month for LOVE, thought I'd make this drawer of LOVE. These drawers were actually done sometime in December by Brenda Quintana called Santa's Drawers and she had a tutorial published on Splitcoasters. So I thought I'd take this design and make one with a bit of a Valentine's theme. As mentioned in a previous post, I've made use of retired SU! DSP and cardstock. Cannot believe that I've hoarded so much! Gotta use them now!

Scallop Round Box

I saw this scallop round box on Paper Punch Addiction website and thought I'd give it a try. I also managed to make the Valentine Heart Couple which Valita demonstrated on her website - wish I had a bust like this punch art! LOL! I'd actually made the Valentine Heart Couple first and didn't quite know what I wanted to do with it until I saw the scallop round box and since it is Valentine's month, thought I'd put these two together! I struggled a bit with the box though. Not too happy with the way it turned out as the lid of the box is a bit too big so that when you shake or move the box the lid doesn't sit snug enough! Not good! I think when I make another box I'll actually make the width of the two strips of DSP the same size so that the lid sits flush at the bottom. Anyways, will give it another try and see how that works out.

Owl House

Don't you think this Owl house is just soo cute? I was browsing YouTube (its amazing what you can find on here) and came across a tutorial for this bird house and just had to give it a try! The tutorial is by Teresa. When you first see the tutorials (part 1 and 2) it looks like a rather long and tedious project, but once you get started it doesn't take that long to put together. In the tutorial there is a step where you would need to cut out four panels to be able to make use of texture folders in either the Big Shot or the Cuttlebug as the size of the cardstock for the base does not fit through the machines. I omitted this step and used a stamped image and just stamped directly onto the box base - it works just as well.

Fortune Cookie Take Out Box

Oh yes, the mojo is back! I also managed to make a Fortune Cookie Take Out Box! The template of the take out box is available from Lauren Meader - I must say she has designed some amazing packagings for gifts. I've bought a few templates from her website - and yes, still haven't managed to use them yet! This is another item on my 'Stamping To Do List'! Anyway, this project actually started out as a 'prototype' to see how it all comes together but the mojo caught me and so I managed to actually finish it as a completed project! The 'Fortune Cookies' are also made using designer papers (which have all retired now!).

Moving Circle Card

Last year I saw a card on Jacque Pedersen's website called a Moving Circle Card as well as on Youtube and I had every intention of making one but of course never got around to it. I've managed to make a small card with a moving circle and I can't believe how simple it is. This is a very simple card that I've made. The card base was made using the Spellbinders dies called Labels Fifteen and the scallop circle using Spellbinders dies Small Scallops. For the white circles I used my new Stampin' Up! Circle cutter - this just makes it so much easier to cut circles!

CD Folder Mini Album

I saw this CD folder mini album on Patty Stamps webpage which she was selling. Patty's album made use of ready-made cd folders which she purchased and simply embellished with some gorgeous DSP from Stampin' Up!. And me being me, I decided to work out how to make the cd folders rather than go out looking for them, so after working with the project for over three days, I finally worked out all the measurements and completed it making use of some of the retired Stampin' Up! DSP which I'd been hording. Please excuse the rather unco-ordinated look of the album, but like I said I have been working on this for three days and basically put it together as I went along. I'm going to attempt another album with a bit more thought now that I've worked everything out.

Popping Photo Cube and Cover

Well true to my word - here's another project which I completed last night - I think its just stinking awesome! Its called a Popping Cube - I saw this on YouTube and managed to visit the crafter's website - Paperseaside - found the templates that Eleanor (thanks, Eleanor) had created, printed them out and I was on my way! I showed my Girls what I'd made and of course they both want one! The cube is squashed flat and fits into the folder and when you pull it out the cube pops up! I used designer papers from Stampin' Up! which have already retired - to tell the truth - I've actually horded all the lovely designer papers that I'd purchased and didn't have the heart to use them! Well, now that Stampin' Up! have come out with their new catalogue (which I must say, I've gone and bought a few new things) there are new designer papers and before I can consider buying more, I have to use up all the others that I still have. So for the next couple of weeks as I make more projects I will be using up all my 'old' horded stock!!!

Well, this is my first post for 2011! My New Year's resolution is to get back my mojo and start making all the projects that I've wanted to do but never seem to get to! So as a start, here is a Lattice Christmas Card which I saw demonstrated on Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds. After I made the first one, I was inspired to make another - unfortunately I did not take a photo of it! Both cards have already been given to two special friends - I hope they liked it - haven't heard anything from them yet!

Christmas 2010

It has been quite a while since I've posted on my blog - things have just been so hectic! Can't believe that we will be celebrating our third Christmas here in New Zealand! For me I feel that Christmas has arrived too quickly and I've just been SO unprepared for it! Can you believe it that I'm still doing Christmas shopping - one more gift to go and then I'm done - AND Christmas is FOUR days away!!!!!
In the last month I've been busy making gift boxes for my Girls to take to school for their classmates and teachers. 56 boxes for the classmates and 4 boxes for their teachers! Here is what was made - the boxes with the Christmas tree opens up like a clam - unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the clam box opened, so I will make up another box with a different design and post on my blog later. The instructions for this project was courtesy of Kelly Slattery - thanks, Kelly! The other two boxes - Snowmen and Reindeers - called An Impossible Box or Squash Box.

Pop Out Card

Most of the designer papers and some stamp sets that I have used with these cards have retired, and Stampin' Up! have just launched their new catalogue which I must say have some amazing new products and I'm hoping to get my hands on some of them soon!

This was another amazing card we made which pops open when you pull the opposite corners - another WOW card. I made my sample using Pretty in Pink cardstock and then realised that I wouldn't have enough for everyone to make one in pink so had to make these cards in white - it didn't work out to badly though! The stamps and inks I used are all Stampin' Up! products except the cardstock. Last but not least, I must give credit where its due - thanks, Debbie Lamb!

Magical Marque Card

I had my monthly crafting day on Friday with the ladies from the Tuesday Coffee Group that I belong to and we made some awesome cards. I showed them how to make three cards and of course using all Stampin' Up! products. The first card we made is called a magical marque card. Credit for this card goes to Janine Tinklenberg. This is such an amazing card and it certainly WOWED my ladies. At first when you look at the card it looks rather complicated to make but actually its quite easy.

Toilet Roll Mini Scrapbook

Ever wondered what one could do with empty toilet rolls besides throwing it away? Well, how about turning them into a mini scrapbook? Yes, that's right a 'toilet roll' scrapbook. Here I've used three empty toilet rolls and flattened them, covered them in scrapbook paper and tied together with ribbon. Made some tags which slot into each toilet roll pocket and now all that's needed are some pictures!

Lily Scrapbook Box

Well, I'm back! It has taken a while to get the mojo back but its slowly returning! I know it has been a whole year since I've posted on my blog - but things happen in life which we cannot foresee.

So to start off, I decided to create this Lily Scrapbook Box which I saw demonstrated on Valita's Designs & Fresh Folds - when you take off the lid the box collapses and you can put photos inside. The lilies were made using the large oval punch from Stampin' Up! and all other materials are Stampin' Up! products too.

Its been awhile!

Gosh, I can't believe that my last posting on my webpage was in July 2009! How time has flown. Things have changed for me in the past few months and though I am not an active Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I am still crafting and using mostly SU! products. In my craft classes I use all SU! products together with other stamping products too.
At the moment, my mojo is a bit on the slow side and I know that I have not posted any recent projects that I have done, but as you can see I have rehashed my webpage -like they say - a new look and a fresh start! So keep watching this space, I'll be back soon!

Creative Inkers July 2009 Extravaganza!

Mini File Boxes

I saw these mini file boxes on Lauren Meader's website. I had a look at the projects that she did with her templates - absolutley gorgeous - and I kinda went and made up my own templates. Lauren has created and copyrighted her templates and they are available for purchase on her blog. So if you'd like the templates please visit her blog and purchase them. Unfortunately, I will not be able to share the templates that I created but I can certainly show you what I did make with them! These mini box files stand 6" high. I've used mine to store SOME of my many, many A2 size cards.

African Footprints - Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #8

Here's another SSSC from Karen Giron. I found this sketch quite simple and had so many ideas flying around in my head, but as I wanted to use the bleaching technique again, I thought I'd go with an African theme, more specifically the Big Five of Africa. Unfortunately, I could only fit four of the images - I'm mssing the Rhino! The stamps are from Great Impressions SA.

Another colour challenge from Kristina. These are very basic colours, unfortunately I don't have any of the SU! Basic Black or Grey so I made use of cardstock from my other stash with the exception of Whisper White. The stamped images are the Gatsby Ladies from Great Impressions SA.

Here's another SSSC from Karen Giron. I used the Colour Inspiration from Kristina's challenge for this card. Since Easter is around the corner, thought I'd make this Easter card. The stamp is from Penny Black and the cardstock and DSP are SU!. The bunny and the bee has been done in 3-d.

Colour Inspiration #44

I love this colour combo! It will be rather sad to see this DSP retiring too! Anyway, this time round I didn't use any SU! stamp sets, but I made use of my other non-SU! stamps - The Gatsby Ladies. These are one of my favourite stamps that I have in my stash. I just think they are just so chic and they go so well with this colour combo. With this card I have used the bleaching technique and I must say I'm impressed with the way the cardstock has come out - such a lovely subtle colour 'under' the Close to Cocoa! Guess what I'll be doing next time round - yep, going on a 'bleaching' trail!

Kristina's Colour Challenge #43

I loved the colours for this challenge and I decided not to do a card with this one, but made a 'Versatility Box', courtesy of Lauren Meader. This box can be used for anything and its just a matter of changing the inside 'shape' to whatever you are planning to put inside the box (the concept of the box has been taken from a cupcake box). After I'd scored and cut the base and the lid, I realised that I'd actually used the wrong colours for each piece. Should have been: Chocolate Chip for base and Ruby Red for lid. Oh well, it still worked out in the end.

Karen Giron has posted another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. This time round I wanted to go for an Eastern flavour. It took me quite a while to put this together as I couldn't decided which SU! designer papers to use, if at all, but I definitely wanted to use either the Eastern Blooms or Embrace Life stamp set. After much shuffling and together with one of my other non-SU! stamps this is what I came up with.

Kristina's Colour Challenge #42

Well what can I say - two projects completed in one day! This is my take on Kristina's colour challenge - I had most of the colours except for Kiwi Kiss so I used Old Olive. This card is actually a 'Swinger' card - when you move the card from side to side the centre image also moves from side to side. This challenge was much easier - I think the more that one does these the easier they become. Or maybe its because I had an idea already as to what I was going to do.

Mini Scrapbook with Pockets

WOW! Its amazing how much crafting one can do when there are no kids around! Don't get me wrong, I do love both my lovely girls, but the 6-week long school holiday was rather taxing on my nervous and patience. So its sheer bliss for me to enjoy the 6-hour free time I have until I pick them up when school ends.
AND something else - I seem to be quite addicted to making mini scrapbook albums! Yeah, so much for saying that I'm not a keen scrapbooker! Huh!
Anyway, here's a mini scrapbook with pockets which I made and the tutorial for this can be found on Fabulously Artsy (thanks Tresa). It was so quick and easy to make. To follow the tutorial I used Real Red and Green Galore with the intention of only making it up to see how it worked out, but after completing the tutorial, I was determined not to let it go to waste so pulled out all my scraps and made up this album - please excuse the rather strange colour combo for this album!

We had our demo training with our Team Leader, Jacqui Pedersen, today and each demo made some swaps. This was my swap for the team. Its a Nugget Purse which I think is so quick and easy to make, especially with all those off cuts one gets from trimming the cardstocks. I saw the tutorial for this purse on YouTube and I think its from ChicnScratch.

Happy Birthday Pocket Card

Here is a Happy Birthday Pocket Card which I've made for a friend who's birthday is on Tuesday. A group of us decided to get her a gift and I offered to make the birthday card. I cased this design from Dawn Griffith's blog and of course changed the colours altogether. Instead of the usual single sheet for the insert, I actually made a card out of the Whisper White so that I could print a message inside.

Here is an envelope card/money holder with lid which I saw on Dawn Griffth's blog. One of the ladies who attends the New Migrants Coffee Sessions every Tuesday, asked me if I wouldn't mind making some samples of mini Thank You/Welcome notes/cards for her to give to her guests at her motel. So of course needing some inspiration I went 'surfing'! I made up a few samples of various ideas and in different colours and she chose this one. I made use of other crafting materials together with the SU! products.

Sale-A-Bration (SAB) Extravaganza 2009

Our team, the Creative Inkers, had their first Extravaganza for 2009 - and what a fun-filled time we all had. This is my first extravaganza that I have ever participated in and I must say, it was hard work, BUT it was absolutely AWESOME!!!! Barbara Bicknell and I did a Box and Soap project and though it was a rather longish project, I think all the attendees at the extravaganza had fun making up the boxes and stamping on the soaps. This just goes to show that SU! stamps can also used for other projects besides scrapbooking and cardmaking! Unfortunately, I didn't have time to snap some shots of all the eager crafting 'beavers' that were there, but if you'd blog on over to my other team members blogs you'll see some great pics - Jacque Pedersen, Denise Ibbett, Kelly Slattery and Karen Rogers.
To give you some idea of what the box and soap project was all about, here are some samples which I've made up. The actual box made at extravaganza was made using, Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Eggplant ribbon, and the SAB Botanical Blooms set.

Gosh, I must say these challenges that some crafters have on their blogs are quite cool! I've participated in both of Kristina's latest colour challenges and now thought I'd try the sketch challenges too. Kristina for colour and this sketch challenge from Karen Giron. Next time round I'm going to try and combine the colour and sketch challenges together and see what will come out of that.

Here's my take on the sketch challenge from Karen. I'm not too comfortable with the card - I think its the ribbon, maybe I should have used a darker ribbon. Oh well, you have a look and let me know.

Okay, I know I said that I was not much of a keen scrapbooker, well, I'm kinda hooked onto making mini scrapbook albums. Even more so now since Peata of Australia left a comment on my last posting with the tri-fold photo album. I had a look at the website Scrapbook Crazy and there are some awesome mini scrapbook album tutorials that I just had to try them out. I must say that making the mini albums is something that I could get used to.

Here's a 4x4 mini album which I saw demoed on YouTube and thought I'd give it a try. So much for saying I'm not a keen scrapbooker, huh! This took me three days to put together - I was doing this in-between the housework and remembering to provide meals to my two daughters and hubby - its amazing how you lose your sense of time and your surroundings when you're crafting. Even though it took three days, I quite enjoyed making it. Who knows, maybe another up and coming scrapbooker!

WOW! I actually did it! This is my first participation in Kristina's Color Challenge. I've actually been looking at all the awesome projects that other bloggers and crafters have been doing and I must say that they've all been fabulous! It can be a bit daunting when you see all the amazing designs, but one of my New Year's Resolutions was to participate in Kristina's Color Challenges. And challenges they certainly are! Here is my card design. I must say, this was quite a challenge for me as I would never have thought to put these colors together. Not too sure if I like the color combo though?! I finally decided to take up the challenge on the NZSU blog that Trudi and Louise maintain for all us NZSU demos - thanks ladies! I had a bit of a challenge making this card as the only SAB set that I have is the Botanical Blooms. I kinda just started stamping and more or less followed the challenge sketch posted on the NZSU blog. Not too sure if I'm happy with the outcome though.

Cherish Photo Wallet

I found this awesome mini photo wallet on YouTube, courtesy of Stampingholly - thanks Holly. Now you must understand that I'm not much of a keen scrapbooker. Most of the photos that I take end up downloaded onto my computer and it just stays there. But when I saw this mini photo wallet I just had to try it out and thought that some of the photos I took of Daniella's 5th birthday (and her first in NZ) at kindy would be ideal for this wallet. The wallet is made with one sheet of 12 x 12 Designer Paper which I think is great as I didn't have to waste any of the beautiful DSP that I used.

Vroom, Vroom, Birthday!

Here is another birthday card, but the image of the car is not from the SU! collection. Otherwise the rest of the products used are all SU!. I needed to make a birthday card for my daughter's friend who is a keen 'Hot Wheels' car collector. The unusual scallop square I saw on Splitcoasters which was made using the scallop border punch. The Ballet Blue card strip is thread through the scallop square and only the card strip is stuck down onto the base card. The scallop square can be slid along the strip. On the inside of the card, I stuck two other cars which will pop up when the card is opened.

Mr Crabby Birthday Card

Here is a birthday card using Mr Crabby. I cased this from Dawn Griffith and changed the color scheme. I also left out the image of Mr Crab in the cut out window image. I only used the sea shell and the birthday hat. This is a tri-fold card. I made the large scallop square using the scallop border punch.

Christmas Choc Purses

As my youngest daughter, Daniella, finishes with kindy this year and will be starting at primary school in the New Year, I decided to give some Christmas Choc Purses to her five kindy teachers just to wish them a Merry Christmas as well as to say thanks for teaching and making her feel so welcome. I managed to fit about 4 Lindt size chocolate balls with their wrapping in the boxes.

One of my favourite websites that I like to visit is Dawn Griffin's website. She's based in the US and has some very interesting and inspirational SU! projects. Only wish that we could get some of the lovely USA SU! stamps over here too! Anyway, I need to take a $2 - $5 gift to a 'Mommies Christmas Dinner' this Friday evening, so I decided rather than going out to purchase something, I'd make something instead.
One of the projects that Dawn demonstrates is making bookmarkers. I've cased this from her, but changed the colors. The large square scallop was made using chipboard and the SU! scallop edge punch. Most the ribbons used are from my stash, but otherwise the DSP, stamps and inks are all SU! products.

Seven facts about me -

I am a South African born Chinese (third generation) and have been in NZ now for 5 months - absolutely love my adoptive home! I also speak Afrikaans (one of the 11 languages of South Africa) and Cantonese (one of the many Chinese dialects);
Mother to two lovely daughters - Michaela (8) and Daniella (5);
Enjoy meeting new people and can be quite talkative - its been said that I don't have the typical Chinese personality, that is - shy, quiet and soft-spoken!
Have a very 'CAN DO' attitude - there is no such thing as 'CAN'T', it may be impossible at times, but its achievable with perseverance!
Enjoy watching thriller, horror, sci-fi and animation movies and do lots of reading too;
Keen to try things outside of the comfort zone, like bunjee jumping, walking along the edge of the Sky City Tower, riding the fastest and longest roller coaster - yep, I would like to try all these!
AND last but not least - STAMPING, STAMPING, STAMPING!! I think I have collected over 300 stamps and now I've added SU! stamps to the collection too! When we left South Africa, the first thing that was packed into the container was my collection of stamps and the rest of my crafting stuff!

Box of Christmas Gift Cards

After much browsing of the super highway and looking at all the wonderful and inspirational SU! blog sites, I've managed to make this box of mini Christmas Gift Cards. This was intended for my daughter's kindy 'Silent Auction', but unfortunately I didn't complete it in time. So this will most likely be given to someone as a wee Christmas gift. I made a total of 10 cards all measuring 9 x 9 cm square and they all fit into the origami box which was made with Rose Red DSP.

Here is another Christmas card - very simple and quick to make. I gold embossed the Season of Joy and layered onto gold card. The 'snowflake O' was punched out and mounted with dimensionals.

Three Trees

I saw the design of this card in one of the many cardmaking magazines that I collect. I adapted a bit of the techniques described in the original card instructions, that is, instead of dry embossing the swirls onto the vellum I used clear embossing powder mixed with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and of course made use of SU! stamps.

I stamped and embossed the three trees with the three different blue inks. Stamped and clear embossed with glitter the swirls and Merry Christmas onto the blue vellum. Mounted the vellum onto the base card with the Blue star shaped brads.

Gold Christmas Tree

The shape of this card was taken from one of the cards which I made at an all day Christmas cardmaking session two Saturdays ago. I only changed the color scheme.

I stamped and gold embossed the Christmas Tree as well as gold embossed the edges of the panel. Valley folded the Brocade Background DSP and stuck inside the card. I then cut out the rectangular aperture and stuck the Christmas Tree panel through the aperture.

Here's another Christmas card. I dry embossed the snowflakes onto Whisper White and using the versamark ink stamped the image onto a cut out circle and used clear embossing powder mixed with ultra fine glitter over the image. To make the large scallop shape, I punched out a few 1/2" circles out of Real Red cardstock and stuck them around the white circle to create the large scallop.

Images were stamped and embossed. Cut out and layered onto the card using 3-D dimensionals. I used the Crop-a-dile to make the holes along the scallop edge.

Once again the image was stamped and embossed and using the Square Scallop Punch, I punched out the image as well as the inside square with the wording. This was all layered onto the card and the inner square was mounted with a dimensional.

With all my cardmaking, I noticed that I had accumulated quite a bit of cut off card stock as well as DSP so I decided that I would set a challenge for myself to make use of all the cut offs and see what cards I could come up with. To start off with, when I received the new stamps which I'd ordered from the Summer Mini Catalogue, I created a quick card with the Live Your Dream stamp set.

I stamped and embossed all the images. For the wording I embossed with clear embossing powder which was mixed with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

Summer Mini Catalogue - WOW

I know have not posted on my blog for some time as I've been busy with sight-seeing and family outings in the past weeks and in-between tried to do some crafting. The new SU! Summer Mini Catalogue arrived in my letterbox about a week ago and there are some awesome stuff in there. Well, after paging through the catalogue I just had to order some of the items - almost the whole catalogue, so I had to kinda stop myself! Anyway finally received all my goodies and having loads of fun with them.

Busy, busy, busy! Here's another Christmas theme card. Ingredients:

Stamp set - Keep Christmas & Many Merry Messages;

Cardstock - Earth Elements Garden Green & Real Red

Ink pads - Versamark & Black;

Many Marvelous Markers;

I made a tri-fold card (A6) size and I stamped the image once onto the card in the window and, yes of course, embossed it! I then stamped and embossed another three images. Colored them in and cut out the parts of the images that I needed to build up the 3-D image on the card. Used some glitter to give the holly leaves and the melting candle wax some sparkle. As for the icicle effects - I picked up the technique from Dawn Griffin's blog (USA) - thanks Dawn!

The card is very simply made as I wanted the main focal point of the card to be the 3-D image.

Well, I've been at it again! Creating and playing with all my Stampin' Up! goodies! What fun! Here's another creation. Ingredients:

Stamp Set - Always;

Cardstock - Soft Subtles Pretty in Pink, Whisper White & Chocolate Chip;

DSP - Berry Bliss;

Ink pads - Pixie Pink, Close to Cocoa & Green Galore;

Punches - Scallop, 1 3/8" & 1 1/4";

Improvisation Stash - gems, brad & ribbon;

I stamped and embossed all the images (I absolutely love the embossing technique!). The flowers are cut out and I used the punches and layered the 'a'.

Cardstock - In Color Purely Pomegranate;

DSP - Holiday Harmony;

Ribbons - Wild Wasabi & Purely Pomegranate;

Glitter;

Deckle Pins (from my 'improvisation' stash);

The image of the Christmas Tree is mounted onto a scalloped shape using my deckle pins which is a technique I learnt while in South Africa.

Here's a birthday card which I created over the weekend. Ingredients are:

Stamp set - Time Well Spent

Card stock - Purely Pomegranate and Whisper White

DSP - Berry Bliss

Ink - Purely Pomegranate and Black

Ribbon - Purely Pomegranate

I layered the card stock and DSP onto the Whisper White card. Stamped and embossed the Happy Birthday and saying in black. The flower was stamped and embossed in Purely Pomegranate and matted onto a piece of Purely Pomegranate card and cut out. I added a gold brad in the centre and mounted onto the card with 3-D dimensionals

Ribbon - Soft Sky

I stamped and embossed the flower image and used the Many Marvelous markers to color in. Cut out and stuck on with 3-D Dimensionals. Simple but effective (I think)

Here's another slider card. I learnt this slider technique at one of the craft classes I attended a few weeks back in Albany. Ingredients used:

Stamp sets: Time Well Spent and Much Appreciated

Cardstock: Earth Elments Chocolate Chip

DS: Berry Bliss

Ribbons: Purely Pomegranate and Groovy Guava

The first image of the flower is uncolored and when you pull the ribbon tab above the card the flower changes to a colored image

This is a pop-up Christmas Card. 'Ingredients' used:

Cardstock - Bold Brights - Blue and Red;

Inks - Brilliant Blue, Real Red and Green Galore

I stamped and embossed the flower and Christmas Tree image and I used versamark ink with white embossing powder (from my 'improvisation' stash) for the white swirls on the front

DS Paper - Holiday Harmony;

Brads - Vintage;

Ribbon - Wild Wasabi; Inks - Black, Old Olive and Soft Sky.

I stamped and embossed the image and used Many Marvelous Markers to add color. I used a sponge dauber and daubed Soft Sky in the background of the image

Plastic Bag Slider Card - Happy Holidays!

Here is a slider card which I found on Dawn's Stamping Thoughts Blog. I cased the idea but used a Christmas theme. This was a lovely card to make. At least I know there is another use for the good old plastic shopping bag! The stamping sets I used were: Season of Joy and Snow Flurries. The gold ribbon was from my 'improvisation' stash.

This card was created with the following stamp sets - Happy Christmas Mate, Snow Flurries and Festive Favorites. I stamped and embossed the image and used the Marvelous Markers to add color. I then stamped another image and only colored in the surfin' Father Christmas, cut him out and stuck him on with silicone for the 3-D effect. His beard is glittered too.
